Fuel quota for tuks will be increased – Minister

The fuel quota for three wheelers which display fares will be increased in due course, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera told Parliament yesterday.

Commenting on the fuel quota given to three-wheeler drivers in Parliament yesterday, the Minister said that attention has been paid to give more fuel quota to those who display the price in their three-wheelers and charging only that price from passengers.

The Minister also said that the new programme will be introduced allowing three-wheeler drivers to obtain an increased fuel quota from selected fuel stations and the usual 5 litre weekly fuel quota from any fuel station.

The Minister also said that the programme will be implemented after necessary information received by the National Transport Commission and the Transport Ministry.
