A New Director to CID; 36 Senior Officers receive Transfers

The Police Headquarters in a statement said five Deputy Inspector General of Police, eight Senior Superintendent of Police, four Assistant Superintendent of Police and 19 Chief Police Inspectors were issued transfers on service requirements.

Accordingly, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nishantha de Zoysa has been appointed as the new Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), The Police Headquarters (PHQ) announced.

Former CID Director, SSP A. R. T. J. De Alwis has been appointed as the Director of the Counter Terrorism Division.

Among others, SSP T. G. N. W. D. Thalduwa who was the Director of the Counter Terrorist Investigation Division was transferred as the Director of the Crimes Division (PHQ).

SSP R. A. D. Kumari who was the Director of the Crimes Division (PHQ) was transferred as the Director of the Women & Child Abuse Prevention Bureau.

In addition, DIG Sajeewa Medawatte, who was in charge of the Human Resource Management Division, has been appointed as the DIG in charge of the Human Resource Management Recruitment, Discipline and International Relations Division.

The Police Headquarters said the relevant transfers have been made effective immediately with the approval of the National Police Commission according to service requirements.
