Four lawyers request CJ to find whether recommendations made by the PCoI on political victimisation caused contempt of court

Four attorneys have jointly requested the Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya to find out whether the recommendations made by Presidential Commission of Inquiry on Political Victimisation has caused contempt of court.

The submission was made by attorney at laws, Senaka Perera, Achala Seneviratne, Namal Rajapaksa and Thambaih Jayaratnaraja.

PCoI recommendation on that called to review the Supreme Court verdict on Duminda Silva is amount to a contempt of court, the lawyers noted in their submission.

They say that the gazette notification which set up the PCoI did not provide any mandate to empower on any case or judiciary.
