Chinese people are invited to enjoy the natural beauty and business opportunities of Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Dr. Kohona invited the Chinese people to come and enjoy the natural beauty of Sri Lanka and explore its business opportunities.

The Ambassador made the invitation while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 2021 International Mayor Tourism Forum of China (Shenzhou). Dr. Kohona said that close ties between Sri Lanka and the province of Henan should be developed and this would facilitate further exchanges in various fields such as tourism, culture, religion, education, trade and investment.

The forum was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the People’s Government of Henan under the theme “Market Prosperity, Scientific and Technological Innovation to Enhance the Competitiveness of Urban Tourism”.

Mr. Xu Li, Member of the Standing Committee of the Henan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Shenzhou Municipal Council, in his inaugural address explained the construction project of the Cultural Tourism Zone, “Three Cities, Three Hundred Kilometers, Three Thousand Years” as part of the promotion of the Cultural Tourism Movement. .

This project highlights and promotes Chinese civilization and the culture of the Yellow River. Mr. Xu said the project aims to enhance tourism interaction in Henan Province and expand cultural cooperation with other countries involved in the Boundary and Road Economic Access (BRI).

In the first quarter of this year, Henan Province received nearly 20 million tourists, and according to China’s “Fourteenth Five Year Plan, tourism will be Henan’s’ main source of income,” said Wang Kai, the acting governor of Henan Province.
